Caleb is One

head on over to the B Wid blog to see more photos of this handsome young man, Caleb.

she's a fighter

jori has discovered her hands. she loves to look at them. he face is so funny as she examines these things that are attached to her. she always has them in a tight fist up in front of her face like she "wants to fight". this makes me smile a big smile. here are some pics where i tried to capture this funny little thing she does right now.

cloth diapers and snookums

when we returned from florida, jori was 8 weeks old. i decided then that i would try cloth diapering again. (i tried when she was about 3 weeks and they just seemed to big and bulky so i waited til she filled out a little.) this time around they seem to fit her great. i found these ones on ebay (brand new) they are called sunbaby. they are a one size fits all (they size is adjustable with snaps) diaper with soaker pad you insert. i have been using them for 3 weeks now while we are in the house. if we go out anywhere i will put her in a disposable one. i have a love/hate relationship with them right now. i LOVE that i am not just throwing money away with disposable, and i love that i am not filling up with dump with more diapers that never go away, but one thing i have noticed is that i have to change her WAY more often or i have to change her entire outfit when i change her diaper. she is such a good baby she doesnt always let me know when she needs to be changed to i need to train myself to change her more often. also the process of rinsing it out after she has worn it takes a lot more time than just throwing something in the trash. so all in all, i am still getting the hang of it but really liking it too. if any of my cloth diapering readers are there.... send me your number one tip for cloth diapering. what made it easier for you? it seems that everyone who does it, really loves it.
ok, so enough about diapers and on the the beautiful blanket my sweet girl is laying on. it was made by my sweet friend brook who has her own etsy shop with her momma. these two ladies are super talented and do excellent work. check them out. thanks brook. jori and i love the blanket.

on the search for tad poles

our good friends heather and james came from atlanta with their sweet fam. their kids and our kids got along great. we really need to get together with them more often. heather and i play pretty well together too :) you can check out her creative blog here.

as i sit here and type this morning it is pretty chilly. i have a sweat shirt and socks on and sure do wish i was still sitting on that warm beach. i am a florida girl at heart.

garret did great this trip. he knee boarded on the long line behind the boat numerous times and then skied on the boom and leader line by himself. we were very proud of him.
so thats the end of sebring until next memorial day or labor day.

sebring september 3-6th part 1

i have blogged about this special place several times before here, here and here. Sebring, Florida. it is magical. beautiful blue skies, crystal clear water, amazing sunsets, white sandy beaches, and family and friends. this was a fun trip because it was joris first time in sebring.
hanging out with papa p on the beach

first time in the water. jori LOVED it. it is so shallow up by the beach so the sun warms it all day and the water becomes so warm. it was just like her bath water. she loved being wet and kicking her legs in the water.
more pics coming...
