yummy cakes

i love decorating cakes, especially when they are for good friends and family. my friend amy asked me to make a cake for her son hudsons second birthday. he is all about john deere tractors right now so she asked me to make a tractor cake.
dave helped me with the tractor tire on top.. he is the best!

hudson loved it so i was happy.

i also made a mini fondant cake for my niece meghans 19th birthday. i also made some cup cakes and put them in ice cream cones and then covered them in icing and fondant circles. so cute.

wish i had some cake to eat now actually.

dad olympics

last saturday night , in honor of Fathers Day, our church hosted their first ever dad Olympics. the dads and kids competed in different relays, had a blast, everyone got medals, dressed the dads up silly, kids and moms laughed... it was great. after the contests we had a big pot luck dinner that was so yummy. we sat outside on our blankets with our friends. god has really blessed us by giving us friends like this. it seemed like it took forever to make friends, but God has really given us some great ones now.
dave, chad, and brett, with all the kiddos
the great china noodle race.... super dad with rae on his back, dave then did another round with brenna in his arms too.
told you, we dressed them up funny. this game was called fish out of water :)

pie eating contest: garret didnt want to do it, but both the girls wanted to. dont think they got the idea of trying to eat it fast, they just wanted pie.

as soon as dave stuck his face in the pie brenna stopped eating hers. she had the funniest look on her face while she watched him getting all messy.
this is raelyn watching her daddy get all messy too. they were so funny.
Happy Fathers Day , Dave. you are a great daddy. thanks for even sticking your face in chocolate pudding for them :) you are so fun for them to be with and such a great role model of what a good husband and hard worker is. i love you.

another family hike

a few weekends ago we took another family hike. this time we went out to viking mountain to the black stack cliffs. we can see this mountain peek from our house in greeneville. we drove up to the top of the mountain and then hiked out to the edge of the cliffs. our friend matt took us up there and showed us the cliffs for the first time. the kids did great again and it was a beautiful site when we got there! i told dave he and i need to come back and do the hike again just the two of us and maybe a picnic. :)this picture was taken from where we started our hike, looking at the cliffs where we were headed. AWESOME!
this is when we first got out to the cliffs.
dakota loves to come with us.
we have a pic of my family when i was probably 11 or so.... at grandfather mountain with the bakers :) fun memories.
raelyn was quite the dare devil! we had to keep pulling her back.

brenna and i getting a closer look

dont know if you can see the christmas looking trees in the background... that is where we started.

brenna wanted to get out and climb too.

how sweet is this! garret said he wanted to hold raelyns hand to help her back down the mountain.

more pics of lily and raelyn

so i dont have a newborn to take pics of all day long every day (which i totally would be doing if i had one) that you all would get completely bored looking at, but i do have a beautiful little lady and pretty white pony for you to get tired of seeing. so, to bad :) .... here are some of my recent pics of the two of them.giving lily come grain before they head out for a ride.

daddy teaching rae how to use the reins and steer the horse.
beautiful light
one happy girl

love this grin!
there was a group out at the camp the night we came out to see dad and ride. when we came back to the dining hall the kids all came over and talked to raelyn and sydney (who was also riding with realyn). as we were going home that night, raelyn said to me "mommy, all those kids really liked my horse" :) she was so proud.
my girls :)
these last photos might be my FAVORITES so far with the new camera. i just love the light and shadows. i was so pleased with how they came out.

thats all for now. but i am sure there will be more to come....
